What to expect
You will support the ongoing research projects as part of the team of the researchers at the Institute. Our research focusses on:
Software Engineering: Internet-based, scalable information systems; developing software languages and conducting empirical studies on software-language usage; security & privacy;
Complex systems: Network Science; Social Network Analysis; Computational Social Science; Data Science;
Writing your dissertation: you will conduct research on your topic, spending one third of your working time on your dissertation
Conduct and supervise courses: You plan and hold courses, support exams or conduct them yourself
Supervise students: You will be available to answer students' questions, provide feedback on seminar papers, and act as co-supervisor for Bachelor's theses.
Support organization and administration
Benefit from top researchers: Right at the start of your academic career, you will work with renowned researchers in your field and thereby deepen your knowledge
Work in a team: At the institute, a team awaits you with whom you will advance your subject scientifically together
Build a personal network You will use the pre-doc phase to establish contacts for the future
What you have to offer
Completed master's or diploma studies in information systems or computer science or social and economic sciences with a focus on information systems or an equivalent qualification
A strong interest in the Institute’s research areas
Advanced skills in software development using, e.g., Java and scripting languages like Python and Tcl.
Prior experience in teaching at a university, e.g., as a teaching assistant or as a tutor, is a plus.
Proficiency in English, basic German language skills (with interest to deepen it)
Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You have experience in using technology enhanced teaching and learning formats or are at least willing to learn

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to € 2.228,63 (paid 14 times per year), this salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience.
