The Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics FKIE develops technologies and processes with the aim of identifying, minimizing and controlling existential risks at an early stage. The Fraunhofer FKIE offers enthusiastic developers challenging and varied tasks and responsibilities with creative leeway. The department Information Technology for Command & Control Systems (ITF) develops and tests architectures and interoperability solutions for complex decision support systems. An important element is using methods from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for situational awareness and assessment. In order to do so, we cooperate closely with both users and operators.
As a member of our team, you will be implementing micro services for intelligent command and control systems. To this end, applicants need to possess good programming skills in Java and have an affiliation to web service technologies. Knowledge in dealing with modern container and cloud platforms (for example Docker and Cloud Foundry) and experience with continuous integration is desirable but can also be acquired through practical on the job experience. Most importantly, however, is your openness to professional challenges. What we expect from you
Do you enjoy working on tricky problems and implementing new and pioneering solutions? Then you are in the right place! Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Information Science or have completed an IT training (preferably as an IT specialist for software development). Applicants with similar knowledge and experience from a different specialization should also feel free to apply.
What you can expect from us
Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits are based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD).
This vacancy is also available on a part-time basis.
In case of identical qualifications preference will be given to severely disabled candidates.
