Senior Scientist (m/f/d) for Urban Data Platforms
You are part of a team researching how urban data platform can improve urban development and management.
You work on smart city projects related to urban data platforms world-wide.
Your colleagues are from a wide range of urban related disciplines such as urban planners, geographers, data scientist, energy and water experts.
You design, acquire and lead national and European research and client projects for urban data platforms in smart cities.
You involve in the conceptional and technical implementation for platform-based services and applications.
You evaluate the developments in the field and shape our research agenda.
You actively engage in the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities, the FIWARE community and other relevant networks.
You build up the urban data platform topic as an integral part of the service portfolio of our unit.
You motivate, lead and develop an interdisciplinary team of researchers and supervise PhDs.
You are a node actively cooperating with all relevant experts and units within AIT.
As an internationally recognized expert in your field you receive invitations to conferences, book contributions and reviews.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner*:
PhD in Meteorology, applied physics or related disciplines
Several years of proven experience in regional, urban and microclimate simulations and climate models for different scales (e.g. WARF, Cosmo CLM and Palm4you, Solweig, Envimet, Grasshopper tools)
Profound knowledge in the assessment of climate models and the exploration of simulation results
Experience in analysing extreme events and climate hazards through spatial impact and risk assessment
Proven experience in developing and managing complex research projects and proven competence in leading and developing teams in a research environment
Proven track of scientific publications and experience in conducting workshops and scientific talks
Very good communication and presentation skills in German and English
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is is EUR 61.320,--The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer company benefits, flexible working conditions, individual training and career opportunities.
