Scientific researcher/postdoctoral fellow (f/m/d) in the field of Time-of-flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (TOF-SIMS)

ICAN is a DFG funded open core facility, which organizes and operates a broad range of surface- and nanoanalytical methods in a joined microscopy center. The equipment includes an advanced time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometer for high-resolution surface imaging, depth profiling and 3D analysis of organic and inorganic surfaces and interfaces. In order to setup and develop new equipment for analysis at liquid surfaces and liquid/solid interfaces and scientific support within the CRC/TRR 247, our team is looking for a committed and cooperative personality with relevant experience in the field of secondary ion mass spectrometry.
Challenging research work within the CRC/TRR 247 focusing on TOF-SIMS analysis of liquid/solid interfaces.
Operation of an advanced time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometer.
Setup and method development of new equipment for analysis of liquid/solid interfaces and volatile materials.
Service measurements and user training within the CRC/TRR 247.
Assistance in the implementation of laboratory and safety measures.
Project related administrative and representative tasks.
Successfully completed university studies and subsequent PhD or doctoral degree in natural sciences or engineering.
Profound experimental experience in time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS).
Experience in multivariate statistical analysis (MVSA), theoretical simulations using standard software, e. g. SRIM, analysis of volatile and/or catalytic materials and microfluidics are highly desirable.
Very good English and/or German skills.
Self-confident, determined and open-minded personality with organizational skills and strong communication and teamwork skills: cooperative and structured way of working, team spirit, flexibility, high motivation and enthusiasm, commitment and reliability.
