Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in western countries and represent one of the major medical challenges of our time. The prevalence of acute and chronic heart failure with reduced as well as preserved ejection fraction (HFrEF and HFpEF) is currently increasing dramatically worldwide. The Institute for Experimental Cardiology is dedicated to investigate the molecular basis of various forms of cardiac diseases and is a central institute in the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). Further research projects such as a Collaborative Research Center (CRC) and other structural measures are in the planning stage. Therefore we are looking for a scientific project coordinator. The position is initially limited to two years with option of further extension.
Tasks
- Operational planning, coordination and conceptual development of large-scale and high volume scientific projects and networks with national and international partners
- Communication with national and international cooperation partners as well as local steering committees
- Planning and coordination of a Collaborative Research Center (CRC)
- Monitoring of timelines and reporting within existing projects
- Contact person for persons and institutes involved in the respective projects
- Scouting and writing of research proposals for the acquisition of significant third-party funding
- Support with legal issues and the drafting of contracts (cooperation agreements and patents)
- Planning and organization of scientific events and meetings
- Public relations and presentation as well as representation of the institute
