Assignment: Scientific services in research and teaching as part of the junior research group "Evolutionary
Biology", especially in the molecular mechanisms underlying the evolution of embryonic development
and gene expression using a combination of methods of genomics and chromatin biology, as
well as computational methods within an interdisciplinary working environment; opportunity to own
scientific qualification (graduation) within the Graduate School at the IRI will be given
Requirements: A completed university education in natural sciences, life sciences, or related fields;
previous research experiences with techniques of molecular genetics (e. g. PCR and molecular cloning);
basic knowledge in evolutionary theory; familiarity with handling of the model organism Drosophila
or knowledge in experimental embryology, as well as an interest in computational and analytical
methods explicitly desirable
