Researcher in EU Horizon 2020 Library Innovation project
(Full-time, E 13 TV-L)
Reference No. 2023/003. The start date is March 1st, 2023 or by agreement. The position is available
initially for two years. In principle, this position can be divided into two part-time positions.
The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence
Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.
The EU Horizon 2020-funded project "LibrarIn - Towards a new generation of European Libraries" analyzes the organizational and digital
innovations of public libraries. With the help of expert interviews, the necessary competencies are determined, the implementation is evaluated and comparative international case studies are developed. The project combines basic research and practical transfer and will be carried out jointly in a consortium with international associations and universities in the EU. The advertised position is located at the University of Konstanz in the
working group "Digital Governance - Public Administration", Prof. Dr. Ines Mergel. The working language is English.
Your Responsibilities
- Conducting qualitative studies on the topic
of digital transformation and
implementation of digital and
organizational innovations in public
libraries
- Qualitative data collection - and analysis
- Systematic literature analysis
- Transfer of results into library practice
- Participation in international conferences and project meetings
- General support of the chair
Your Competencies
- Completed studies in the field of public
administration or public management (PhD
degree)
- Interest in basic research
- Experience in qualitative research
methods (collection and analysis of case
studies and qualitative interviews)
- Very good writing skills
- Strong written and oral communications
skills are required in English and German
language
- Willingness to work independently and
self-directed
