The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt is seeking to employ at the earliest possible date
a researcher (m/f/d)
in part time (50%), salary scale E 13 TV-H,
for two years (under the terms of the WissZVG).
Your responsibilities include:
Development of a research project, application for grants, and research on peace and conflict related to environmental problems and risks;
Maintenance and further development of the Institute's local, national and international network, especially within the Leibniz Research Alliance Crises in a Globalised World.
In addition, we expect involvement in the further development of the research agenda of PRIF, willingness to cooperate on an interdisciplinary basis and to communicate research results to the political and social public as well as participation in the committees of PRIF's self-administration.
The applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
At least a very good university diploma in political science, sociology or another relevant discipline;
Research focus in the field of Earth system research, respectively on the interdependence of environmental-, climate-, or resource-conflicts and political crises, and ways of managing or regulating them;
Very good knowledge of the current scientific and societal debates in this topic area;
Good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative social science methods.
Very good command of English, spoken and written, as well as competent handling of standard office software are prerequisites. Knowledge of German is not a prerequisite,
but it is expected that the applicant shows willingness to try to acquire German language skills within the next one to two years.
