Research Software Engineer

Computational Social Science (CSS)
is a new area of research that aims to analyze socio-cultural phenomena through new kinds of data and novel technologies. In cooperation
with the department "Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences" (WTS), we develop the data analysis platform
GESIS Notebooks on the basis of the
Your tasks will be:
Site reliability engineering for GESIS Notebooks and related services
Development of new features in collaboration with the Jupyter community
Maintenance of servers and Kubernetes clusters
Write and maintain user as well as technical documentation and support innovative research
Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields
Experience with Python and contributed to open-source software projects, e.g. on GitHub
Interested in virtualization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiar with web servers, such as Nginx
