Your tasks
The Research Operations & Scientific Communication Manager will coordinate the scientific activities of the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law (Department I, led by Prof. Burkhard Hess) and scientific communication, in close cooperation with the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution (Department II) and the Support Functions (responsible for the organization of conferences and other events). It will also support the Management Board in ongoing scientific matters of the Institute relating to the respective area of responsibility. The successful candidate has the responsibility and the authority to, in particular but not exclusively:
- Coordinate and organize workshops, seminars and academic events, the scientific program of the Department in coordination with the Department’s researchers and the Institute’ General Services Department;
- Coordinate and organize, in collaboration with the scientific coordinator of the other Department, common scientific events of the Institute;
- Coordinate, in close collaboration with the scientific coordinator of the other Department the Institute’s guest program;
- Coordinate, further develop and implement the Department’s scientific communication strategy within the framework of the overall institution communication strategy;
- Draft, copy-edit and post clear, compelling and relevant content of the scientific work on social media;
- In cooperation with the other Departments, design and edit publications such as the various reports, research brochures and other marketing material of the Institute (in English), ensuring relevant diffusion and media coverage of the scientific work when applicable (within Luxembourg and Internationally);
- Facilitate and support the writing of short articles for the MPI website increasing the dissemination of the research findings, identifying target audiences and appropriate communication tools to achieve the greatest impact;
- Maintain an overview of the research activities of the Department and the Institute’s researchers;
- Coordinate cooperation and networking with Universities and other national and international research institutions;
- Coordinate national and international third party funding programs and calls;
- Perform any other assignment within the framework of the function.
