Research Group Leader
„Immunology of Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers“
with Tenure Track Option (f/m)
Remuneration is in accordance with the German salary scheme for the public service (E15) (TV-AVH Hamburg).
The Research Group will be part of the Thematic Translational Unit Emerging Infections of the German
Center for Infection Research (DZIF). We are looking for an excellent scientist with a high potential
for developing an internationally recognized research agenda in the field of viral hemorrhagic fevers
caused by risk group 4 pathogens. Eligible candidates have a track record in the postdoctoral phase or
as junior research group leader on immunology and immunopathology of Ebola, Lassa, and/or Crimean-Congo
hemorrhagic fever viruses. Experience with planning and implementation of research projects in low- and
middle-income countries and in the biosafety level 4 laboratory is desirable. The initial appointment will
be for 4 years. After positive evaluation in the final year, the temporary appointment is converted to a
