Research Associate (PostDoc) for the development of trainings of the KODAQS Data Quality Academy
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 100% working time, limited until 14.11.2026)
With the BMBF-funded project KODAQS, GESIS, together with the University of Mannheim and LMU Munich, will create a data competence center for the social sciences that will provide researchers with the necessary skills for assessing, processing, and analyzing social science data in a variety of ways. A central component of the project is a new, innovative learning program to be established: the Data Quality Academy. Team Training of the Department Knowledge Exchange and Outreach (KEO) develops and organizes social science methods training to be delivered in Cologne and Mannheim as well as virtually. Over 1,000 participants visit our training events every year.
Your tasks:
Planning and scientific coordination of the KODAQs Data Quality Academy
Creation of advanced training courses in the area of Data Quality
Screening and editing of existing teaching materials
Research and academic publishing in the field of Data Quality and Survey Methodology (30% of your working time)
Science communication of the project results
Your profile:
Doctorate/PhD or well advanced doctoral/PhD thesis (up to six months before submission) in the social sciences
Very good knowledge of quantitative methods of empirical social research, especially Survey Methodology
Strong networking experience in the national and international expert community with methodological orientation
Experience with developing innovative courses, including the use of digital formats, is desired
High level of English, and good German language proficiency in spoken and written form
