Research Associate (m/f/x) at the Institute of Manufacturing Science and Engineering

At the Institute of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, the Chair of Forming and Machining Processes offers a project position as

Research Associate (m/w/d)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited until July 31, 2024. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). An extension is desired, subject to resources being available.

Tasks: Technical project management of this research project in cooperation with the participating research partner. The overall objective is the development of a technology to automate the calculation of machining processes by means of discrete simulation models. Experimental investigations and their planning in coordination with the project partner are as much a part of your field of activity as the documentation, publications and presentation of the research results. Requirements:

• university degree (diploma/master's degree) in the field of engineering sciences, preferably in production engineering or simulation and modelling techniques
• a high degree of self-motivation; ability and willingness to familiarize oneself with new topics and methods
• good programming skills in at least one high-level language
• knowledge of discrete modelling and simulation techniques is very advantageous
• very good written and spoken German or English skills
• familiarity with common software and office tools.
