Technische Hochschule Lübeck is seeking to appoint, at the earliest possible opportunity, in the Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Design, a
Research Associate (m/f/o) in the field of Hydraulic Engineering
- Reference 2.105 -
on a temporary contract until 31.12.2023. Should the pay scale terms and conditions be met, the post will be categorised up to remuneration group 13 as per the remuneration
structure under the collective public sector wage agreement for the federal states (TV-L). The hours of work will amount to 50 % of the hours of work for a full-time position
set under the collective agreement (currently 19.35 hours / week).
The position is part of the Technische Hochschule Lübeck's Bachelor's and Master's programs in Civil Engineering focusing on the basic and selective modules of hydraulic
engineering as well as the English-language Master's program in Environmental Engineering. The position is suitable for applicants with excellent skills and practical experience
in physical modelling and numerical flow simulations in hydraulic engineering.
Your duties will comprise the following activities:
- Teaching on the above-mentioned study programmes (to include revising lecture notes and organizing homework assignments, carrying out practical laboratory exercises, providing support for practical measuring courses)
- Independent exercises, including student support
- Field trip organisation
- Support for the department's GIS staff unit
- Applications for project and research funding
- Research and scientific training
Since the advertised position is a qualifying post, the willingness to undertake a PhD programme, collaborate in doctoral working groups and involvement in the designated university structures is required.
Your qualifications and experience will be as follows:
- At least a Master's degree in the field of Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- Very good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of hydromechanics and hydraulic engineering
- Sound knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Very good English skills (oral and written)
- A communicative and open personality
- An enjoyment of dealing with the different departments of the university
- You will be a flexible team player (m/f/o) who is also able to work independently
