Help us shape the future! The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the leading organization for applied research in Europe. The Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics FKIE develops technologies and processes with the aim of identifying, minimizing and controlling existential risks at an early stage. In close cooperation with strategic partners, the institute is dedicated to the entire processing chain of data and information: from acquisition, transmission and processing to reliable protection. The Fraunhofer FKIE is committed to this mission both in the civilian sector and in control and reconnaissance processes in the defence technology sector.
The Fraunhofer FKIE offers enthusiastic developers challenging and varied tasks and responsibilities with creative leeway. The department Information Technology for Command & Control Systems (ITF) develops and tests architectures and interoperability solutions for complex decision support systems. An important element is using methods from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for situational awareness and assessment. In order to do so, we cooperate closely with both users and operators.
What we expect from you
We are looking for research associates who are capable and willing to familiarize themselves with pioneering techniques and solutions and can think both inside and outside of the box. Applicants should have completed higher academic studies in Mathematics, Computing, or other studies with an emphasis on technical skills. Programming knowledge in a common programming language, preferably Java and/or Python, is required. It would also be advantageous if applicants are already familiar with the tools and methods of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
