At Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg (HSU/UniBw H), Faculty of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Chair for Manufacturing Technology (Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wulfsberg), two positions are available from the next possible date for

Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(salary group 13 TVöD; 39 hours per week)

for a limited period until 31.12.2024. This is a temporary employment in an interdisciplinary working group within the Center for Digitization and Technology Research (dtec.bw), researching support systems for work and everyday life, e.g. for the support of employees in production or the support of movement-impaired persons, including development and evaluation methods.

Responsibilities:

• Researching exoskeletons with customized functions and / or components
• Exploration of methods for the design and evaluation of exoskeletons
• Research of a robotic development and evaluation environment for exoskeletons
• Participation in teaching to the extent of basically 3,0 trimester-week-hour
• Possibility of further academic qualification (e.g. doctorate or habilitation)
• Carrying out general administrative work as well as academic activities in academic self-administration

Qualification requirements:

• A completed university degree (Diplom [univ.] or Master) in the fields of mechatronics, robotics, production technology or information technology
• Very good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken (preferred but not limited)

Furthermore desired:

• Knowledge from the fields of robotics, mechatronics, product development, mechatronic systems, medical technology and / or control engineering
• Experience in the field of human-machine interaction and / or exoskeletons
• Structured way of working as well as innovative and creative way of thinking
• A high degree of communication and team skills, reliability, independence, flexibility and discretion

The employment is based on the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD) in conjunction with the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
