Applications are invited for a postdoc position at the level of an independent junior-researcher
at Physics Department of the Freie Universität Berlin. The Physics Department at
FU Berlin has a long-standing focus on ultrafast dynamics of molecular, surface and
solid-state systems as well as on nanoscience and biophysics. The department‘s research
activities over the years have resulted in numerous collaborative research centers (CRCs)
funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG. In the framework of the latest
initiative for such a joint research project on ultrafast spin dynamics, comprising ultrafast
dynamics of magnetic order and ultrafast spin currents, the FU Physics Department invites
both experimentalists and theoreticians to apply for a 2-years position (TV-L FU E13). For

Job description: Developing a grant proposal to participate in the Ultrafast Spin Dynamics
CRC as an independent principal investigator. The prospective scientist will benefit from a
stimulating environment of cutting-edge research and will be given various opportunities to
enhance his/her academic profile including a qualification program to develop leadership
and teaching skills. The teaching load of the offered position is 2hrs per week (2SWS).
Requirements: The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree along with an
excellent publication record.
