Research Assistant (f/m) Institute of Wind Energy Systems
The Institute of Wind Energy Systems invites applications for a position as a
Research Assistant (m/f) (Salary Scale 13 TV-L)
to be appointed January 1, 2017. The position is limited to 3 years. Conferral of a doctorate in the framework of the position is welcome.
Responsibilities and duties
Responsibilities and duties include contributions in the fields of research and education. This also covers e.g. the realization
and acquisition of research projects, the execution of education tutorials, and the supervision of student works such as Bachelor’s or Master’s theses.
The research topic considers aeroelastic stability of wind turbine rotor blades. In particular, an existing methodology for the
calculation of critical inflow velocities shall be automized and extended. The position is embedded in a coordinated research
project that focusses on so-called smart rotor blade concepts. In strong collaboration with cooperation partners, aeroelastic
stability analyses have to be carried out for different rotor blade concepts, and results have to be evaluated in the context
of the wind turbine system.
To qualify for the position, applicants (m/f) must hold a Diploma or Master’s degree of a scientific engineering study
with a strong background in aeroelastics. Specialist skills and knowledge in aeroelastic stability and wind energy engineering
are advantageous. Very good English skills are compulsory. We expect a highly motivated and independent team worker with very
good communication and organization skills.
The position may be filled with part-time employees, provided it will thereby be covered to the full extent.
