Research Assistant - 0.8 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD)

Faculty VI - Institute of Urban and Regional Planning/ Planning Theory and Urban-Regional Policy Analysis
Reference number: VI-286/17 (starting at 01/09/17 / for a period of max. 5 years / closing date for applications 31/07/17)
Working field: We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to independently teach courses in German and English and to supervise theses on topics relevant to the activities of the Chair; to participate in the activities of the Chair, in particular by actively contributing to the development of research projects and to the internationalisation of research and teaching; to present their research results at international conferences and in international peer-reviewed journals; to perform administrative tasks related to research and teaching; to enter an agreement on the objectives and targets of collaboration at the Chair.
Requirements: Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) preferably in Urban and Regional Planning, Human Geography, or a Social Sciences discipline with an urban and regional studies orientation; demonstrable experience in urban and regional research is of advantage; good working knowledge of the English and German language; working knowledge of further languages is of advantage; demonstrable interest in research issues relevant to the activities of the Chair of Planning Theory, to be stated in a draft proposal for their own PhD research.
