Your responsibilities include:
Scientific work on work package 4 "Development of evaluation algorithms, pyrolysis modeling of selected materials and fire spread" of the sub-project "Characterization of fires
and their fire characteristics in socio-cultural infrastructures" in the BMBF-funded joint project "Preserving cultural assets through helper motivation and low fire probabilities -
BRAWA". This includes:
Modeling of developing fires with the software "Fire Dynamics Simulator"
Modeling in particular fire development and pyrolysis of selected materials
Prediction and evaluation of a variation of fire scenarios a basis for assessment of the hazardousness these scenarios
Investigation of the influence of room geometries, such as ceiling height, room floor area, as well as the presence of windows and doors or ceilings, on fire development and also the spread of smoke and smoke gas components
Completed scientific university studies (diploma or master's degree) in the field of physical engineering, safety and security, safety engineering, civil engineering or comparable
Knowledge of pyrolysis processes of solid materials
Knowledge in the application of numerical calculation methods, preferably application of the "Fire Dynamics Simulator"
Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
Good communication and information behaviour as well as goal-oriented and structured way of working
Willingness to learn, ability to work in a Team / willingness to cooperate
Conceptual, strategie and innovative thinking skills
Interdisciplinary research at the interface of politics, economics and society
Work in national and international networks with universities, research institutes and industrial companies
