The Chair of Logistics and Services Management invites applications for the position of
Research Assistant / Doctoral Student (f/m/d)
located at WHU Campus Düsseldorf, starting summer / fall 2020.
WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU aims to adhere to three principles: quality, internationality, and relevance to business practice.
We are a highly motivated team and truly enjoy our work. We concentrate on projects within the logistics and services industry as well as current supply chain management topics. We conduct rigorous academic research for publication in international top journals while also transferring results to help practitioners solving their most pressing issues. Executing our mission, we frequently collaborate with renowned scientists from national and international research institutes and hold close ties with industry partners.
The goal-oriented, but collaborative atmosphere at the chair enables our doctoral candidates to finish their thesis within two to three years gaining relevant industry insights as well as the knowledge and skills to independently structure and execute research projects.
You concentrate on projects in SCM, in services management or in management of logistics companies addressing current research and industry challenges.
The central focus of your work is your dissertation project, which will include writing scientific papers for publication in international journals.
You have the opportunity to develop new ideas and take responsibility in contributing to the future development of our chair.

You are an eager team player with strong analytical skills, a high level of initiative, and you derive pleasure from creative and conceptual work.
You have very successfully completed (or will shortly complete) your management-related studies and you are fluent in English language.
You have a strong interest in empirical work.
Experience and/or a study focus in SCM/logistics or services management is a plus, but not required
