In this position, as full-time member of the rectorate, you are in charge of the administration for the German Sport University in Cologne and will supervise all personnel
in technology and administration. You are responsible for the administration of all economic and personnel matters and assigned with the household and thus responsible for the
management of the university budgets.
A series of changes have been initiated at the German Sport University in recent years, whose successful continuance is an imperative. Notable among these are:
the digitalization of administrative services
supporting the further internationalization of the university
the realization of numerous university building activities
promoting the development of a future-oriented and sustainable infrastructure for research and teaching
the further development of tools for the financial management
the service-oriented process and quality management of the administration for research and teaching
the promotion of personnel development for staff in technology and administration
An outstanding and dedicated person is sought with qualities of leadership and communication skills, who must be in possession of a completed degree and has many years of
proven experience in a managerial position - preferably in a large scientific or scientifically-related enterprise. You have sound knowledge of the legal workings of public
universities and excellent commercial skills. You are committed to the high standards of concordance between research and teaching and exhibit a highly developed conceptual
and analytical mindset, powers of persuasion and personable negotiating skills.
For non-native speakers the German language proficiency at C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required and proof must be submitted at the time of application (Goethe Zertifikat C2, Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom or DSH 3).
Excellent language skills in English are presupposed.
The initial term of office is six years whereby re-elections for terms of office of six years respectively are possible. The incumbent will also be applying. The salary
corresponds to W3 plus function-related performance bonuses.
