Job posting – Global AMR R&D Hub
At the initiative of the G20 leaders a Global AMR R&D Hub has been created. A small Secretariat located in Berlin implements the work of this Hub. To support the work of the Secretariat of the Global AMR R&D Hub, we are currently searching for one
Programme Officer/Economist (f/m/d)
Starting date: May 1st 2019
The new colleague is expected to provide economic insight notably for the analyses that the Hub is expected to deliver. The Programme Officer/Economist is also expected to follow the relevant discussions worldwide and to provide input.
The Programme Officer/Economist reports to the Lead of the Hub Secretariat.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Contribution to the work of the Global AMR R&D Hub in particular through market analysis and economic modelling;
Representing the Global AMR R&D Hub in interactions with stakeholders;
Help understand the economic impact of different types of incentives for bringing interventions targeting AMR to the market and to patients and other users;
Help understand the social and environmental impacts of policy and regulation, behaviour change and other scenarios.
Qualification and Experience
An advanced degree in economics is desired;
Ability to turn data into insights and research products, including explaining research methods and conclusions to non-expert and non-technical audiences;
Ability to liaise with and consult effectively with diverse stakeholders and to represent the Hub in an international setting in interactions with high-level representatives from academia and policy;
Excellent presentation skills;
Ability to work independently and with a high degree of responsibility;
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
IT literate including Microsoft Office products;
Perfect command of spoken and written English required, additional good command of German an asset.
Well developed inter-personal skills. Can challenge and influence senior stakeholders whilst building and maintaining relationships;
Able to work in a flexible and agile way.
The position is for a fixed duration of two years. The position is located in Berlin, Germany. The annual gross salary level matches the German public tariff scheme up to TVöD/Bund E14, depending on the qualification of the retained candidate.
