Professor (Pay group: W2 BbgBesO)
of Flight Systems Engineering (Reference number LL5/133)
The successful candidate will teach at bachelor’s and master’s level and undertake applied
research and knowledge transfer according to the profile of the Technical University of
Applied Sciences Wildau in teaching in undergraduate and master’s programmes.
We expect a PhD in the field of aviation engineering or a related field. The focus of the
course is on the areas of sensor technology, measurement and control engineering, flight
mechanics, flight control, flight instrumentation, digital signal processing and filtering, flight
The successful candidate will also be expected to take on the teaching of core subjects in
related fields as well as holding lectures in English.
We are looking for someone who has relevant practical, teaching and research experience.
The successful candidate will provide vocational and practical teaching and develop
positive professional relationships with students and all other partners. Dedicated work in
the development of new courses and degree programmes is also expected, as is teaching
in other degree programmes including distance learning.
The TUAS Wildau attaches great importance to research and technology transfer activities
by professors. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate will intensify and
expand contacts with companies involved in the programme. The University supports
and promotes technology transfer and the implementation of cooperation projects with
partners in business and industry. Research and interdisciplinary collaboration are therefore

In the case of an initial appointment the professorship will be limited to three years and six
months in accordance with § 43 para. 1 of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).
In addition to general employment law provisions, this post is subject to the following
requirements under § 41 BbgHG:

The special aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by a doctorate with good

methods in at least three years relevant professional experience, at least two years of
which must have been gained outside the higher education sector and
