Professorship (W3)
Regional Planning
(Regionalplanung)
commencing at the earliest opportunity.
An exceptional personality is sought with a proven understanding for regional
development processes and for design in larger scales who can represent the
Department of Regional Planning in accordance with the profile of the study
program of Urban and Regional Planning with its strong conceptual and projectoriented
emphasis. Issues relevant to the professional practice as well as to the
scientific discourse are to be dealt with extensively in teaching and research.
Expected are in-depth competencies in analytical and conceptual approaches
to regional planning. The focus should lie both on regional planning policies and
concepts as well as on the corresponding formal and informal instruments. In
order to complement the existing departments of the program, the emphasis lies
on rural areas and urban-rural relationships (smart regions).
The teaching is to be conducted primarily in the programs Urban and Regional
Planning as well as Architecture. Candidates are expected to cooperate with
the international program World Heritage Studies (in English) and programs of
other faculties.
Required are a relevant doctoral degree and further scientific qualifications in
the field of regional planning.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz
(Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in
conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

conditions of employment.
Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is
expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research
Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in
English is expected.
