research and teaching. The Faculty of Business, Economics & Law at the University of Bayreuth is currently seeking to appoint a
Professor of Public Law (pay grade: W3)
This is a permanent civil service position.
The successful candidate will actively represent the subject area of public law in both research and teaching. He or she will have a
research interest in public law, especially with regard to theoretical, philosophical, and historical issues and/or issues relating to
comparative law. The applicant should also have an interest in the aspects of legal studies that are unique to Bayreuth, such as the
relevant focus areas at the University and the supplemental programmes in business and economics as well as science and technology.
The faculty is seeking a university lecturer who is able to contribute to its net-work in the fields of business, economics, and
law, and who can engage in joint research projects in these fields.
Requirements for this position (in accordance with Article 7 and Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG) are a university degree, a doctoral degree,
Habilitation (post-doctoral lec-turing qualification), and proven excellence in teaching. Alternatively evidence of equivalent scholarly
achievement for example as a junior professor or in a non-university environment will also be considered. The ability to teach in English
is expected. Only applicants who are 51 years of age or younger can be hired as civil servants (Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG).
