Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe University of Arts and
Design) offers the following employment opportunities:
Professor of Product Design, 67 % (pay group W 3)
The holder of this position will represent the artistic and design-related matters of
the subject of Product Design in their full dimension through his/her lecturing and
teaching activities and project work. Besides the extensive exploration of the relevant
product design parameters - function, engineering, configuration and convention -
the successful candidate will be able to consider the social relevance of a design in a
sound and thoughtful manner. The candidate will hold hands-on course in design and
production that will be based on the systematic use of analogous and digital media
and program-controlled tools. To be filled as of 01.10.2017; the initial contract term
will be limited to three (3) years, renewable by a maximum of three (3) years.
