At the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and
Information Technology (E + I) wishes to appoint, for the earliest possible start date, a:
of Medical Technology, with a focus on catheter and
electrode technology and cardiac electrophysiology
Offenburg University is a member of the European University Association (EUA), a Europewide
network of universities with particular strengths in research. We are offering the
candidate (m/f) the opportunity to focus on and further develop his or her own field of
research, while also participating in applied research and development projects.
The future post-holder will be required to contribute to a sufficiently broad and deep
range of teaching activities in the specified areas and to offer a research specialism in
at least one of those fields, having gained relevant experience at recognised research
institutions. The candidate’s experience of catheter and electrode technology needs not,
however, be limited to cardiology.
The professorship also incorporates leadership of the Peter Osypka Institute (as the
successor to Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. B. Ismer). Additionally, intensive cooperation is
expected with partners from the fields of both medicine and medical technology.
Offenburg University offers excellent opportunities for such collaborations with the many
clinical institutions in the local area.
The professorship requires expertise in teaching, applied research and professional
development in the relevant field as well as management of the associated laboratories
and involvement in vocational training. The candidate must be prepared to take on
teaching responsibilities in associated specialist areas and academic administration duties
for the university.
Furthermore, an ability and willingness
to provide teaching in English is expected.
For further information on the role, please contact
the responsible Dean, Prof. Dr. Uwe Nuß, by telephone
