The Department of Electrical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science (EMI)
at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences is seeking to fill the following post as soon as
Professor (W 3)
of Medical Engineering (ref. 434)
The University is a member of the European University Association (EUA), a trans-European
network of strongly research-oriented universities. The successful candidate will be invited
to introduce and develop their own field of research, while taking part in application-specific
research and development projects.
The future incumbent will be expected to demonstrate experience in at least one of
the following fields or a related discipline: catheter technology, electro-stimulation,
electrophysiology or cardiac implants. The holder of the position will also have the
opportunity to run and oversee technical expansion of the Peter Osypka Institute. The future
incumbent thus has outstanding prospects for cooperating with medical engineering and
medical partners across the aforementioned disciplines in the areas of study, teaching and
research. It will also be possible to access existing networks.
The Professorship will encompass the fields of teaching, applied research and advanced
training; the Professor will also contribute to basic studies. Furthermore, the incumbent will
be expected to hold lectures in related disciplines and support administrative tasks within
the University of Applied Sciences. Moreover, the post
