The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a position as a
W3 Professor of Haematology, Oncology,
Clinical Immunology, Rheumatology
to commence on 1 April 2019.
The professorship is linked with the directorship of the Internal Medicine Department II (Haematology, Oncology, Clinical Immunology, Rheumatology)
at the University Hospitals Tübingen. The successful candidate is expected to represent the discipline of Internal Medicine, working closely with
the other representatives of the Department of Internal Medicine, in research, teaching and patient care, and to be responsible clinically, scientifically
and economically for the area of Haematology, Oncology, Clinical Immunology, Rheumatology.
Prerequisites are:
- a qualification as a specialist in internal medicine and haematology and oncology
- a proven international track record in the field of haematology research
- innovative and internationally competitive clinical research (basic, disease- and patient-oriented)
- clinical expertise in the care of patients with haematological, oncological, immunological and rheumatological diseases
- Experience in the management of outpatients and inpatients clinical units
- comprehensive teaching experience and involvement particularly in view of innovative curricula in the Medicine and Molecular Medicine degree programs
Active personal participation in the development of lectures and other teaching formats as well as in interdisciplinary care platforms such as the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen-Stuttgart (CCC) are expected.
Involvement in current and planned research networks (collaborative research centers, clusters of excellence etc.) as well as active cooperation in programs at the Faculty of Medicine
and the University, in particular at the Center for Personalized Medicine, the M3 (Malignome, Metabolome and Microbiome) research institute, the research biodatabases including Broad
Consent and the data platform CentraXX, is expected.
Formal requirements for appointment are the Habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualification, as well as proven teaching aptitude.
