Professor of Evolutionary Animal Ecology
(pay grade: W 3)
to commence 1 October 2017. This is a permanent civil service position.
We are seeking a candidate with an excellent track-record in internationally recognized research and proven teaching experience. The ideal candidate will employ modern experimental, organismic approaches to solve key questions in the field of evolutionary animal ecology. The successful candidate is expected to cooperate within the existing focus areas "Ecology and Environmental Sciences" and "Molecular Biosciences", represented by the Bayreuth Center of Ecology and Environmental Research (BayCEER) and the Bayreuth Center for Molecular Biosciences (BZMB) respectively. He/She will contribute to basic teaching in zoology of bachelor and teacher training programs and to advanced teaching in the biological master programs of the University of Bayreuth.
Requirements for this position (in accordance with Article 7 and Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG) are a university degree, a doctoral degree, a post-doctoral qualification to teach at a professorial leven (Habilitation), and proven excellence in teaching. Evidence of equivalent scholarly achievement as a junior professor or in a non-university environment will also be considered. Only applicants who are 51 years of age or younger can be hired as civil servants (Article 10 para 3 BayHSchPG). The ability to teach in English is expected.
