The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the position of
Professor (W3) of Clinical Infectiology (f/m/d)
available immediately.
The planned Clinical Infectiology section will be established within Department I of Internal Medicine at the Tübingen University Hospitals. Candidates for the professorship should have a proven track record of international excellence in the field of clinical infectiology and infectious diseases research. Research activities should encompass clinical trials of infectious diseases with a focus on antibiotic resistance in bacterial infections as well as microbiome research, genomic research, and preclinical models. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading position in Tübingen’s Comprehensive Infectious Disease Center (CIDiC) and to represent the field of Clinical Infectiology including Antibiotic Stewardship at the University Hospitals.
Commitment to participation in the research focus Infection Biology and the German Center for Infectious Diseases Research and involvement in the Cluster of Excellence “Control of Microorganisms to Fight Infections – CMFI” as well as contribution to ongoing research networks (including collaborative research centers) are expected.
Required qualifications include a board certification in Internal Medicine/Infectiology, comprehensive experience with clinical infectious diseases, a PhD or equivalent international degree and postdoctoral qualifications equivalent to the requirements for tenure. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm for teaching and an excellent track record in it, particularly in the field of infectious diseases.
