The School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics seeks applications for the head of the
future Institute of Software Security. The position is linked to ahoi.digital, a programme of the Free and
Hanseatic City of Hamburg for strengthening Computer Science, and will begin in the 2020/2021 winter semester.
The successful candidate is expected to take forward research on secure and dependable software systems from
foundations in Computer Science to applications in security-relevant domains. Qualified applicants are expected
to have an excellent track record in this area. We particularly welcome candidates with a background in the
technical aspects of secure software systems, including but not necessarily limited to one or more of the
Methods for modelling, realization and evaluation of secure and dependable software systems,
Trusted computing, secure boot,
Side channel-aware and -resistant software,
Security testing, fuzzing.
As the head of the future Institute of Software Security, the successful candidate is expected to offer courses in
Computer Science and related degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level and to engage in
further development of the curricula offered by TUHH. The ability to teach undergraduate courses in German is
