W3-Professorship in Inclusive Education
The post holder will need to represent the full scope of research and lecturing in the field of
inclusive education in sense of a pedagogy oriented on diversity and especially focused on
school and classroom development processes. Expertise for the transformation of perspectives
of special needs education into inclusive teaching structures in consideration of the intersection
of other dimensions of heterogeneity is required. Interdisciplinary cooperation and networking
should be obvious in the profile of the candidate.
Requirements for application:
First State Examination (Erste Staatsprüfung) for the teaching profession or comparable
Second State Examination (Zweite Staatsprüfung) for the teaching profession desired
Definable special needs education focus
Outstanding relevant promotion
Habilitation or equivalent work
Experiences in the acquisition of third-party research funds
Experiences in academic teaching
A three year long practical experience in school desired
Priorities of research are listed above. In lecturing, the post holder is responsible for qualifications
of inclusive didactic approaches by transformation of special needs education methodology and
didactics and relevant professional expertise such as diagnostics, planning of development and
learning for all teacher-related courses at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg; it aims at
the qualification of all future teachers in their inclusive practices. Also, the post holder is responsible
for inclusion orientated lecturing in BA and MA of education study programs. Cooperation
with teaching and education study programs of the University of Halle are expected, just as the
involvement in the further development of the research profile of the faculty, in the Centre for
teacher education (Zentrum für Lehrerbildung, ZLB) and in the Centre for school and educational
research (Zentrum für Schul- und Bildungsforschung, ZSB) of the university. The post holder
is also formally responsible for rehab pedagogical psychology (Rehabilitationspädagogische
Psychologie) at the institute.
