Professorship (W3) in Empirical Research and Educational Psychology

The Bonn Center for Teacher Education (BZL) at the University of Bonn is seeking to fill a professorship in
Empirical Educational Research and Educational Psychology (W3)
for immediate hire.
The candidate will pursue empirical educational research and educational psychology in both teaching and research and is expected to develop independent research projects (e.g. referring to international large-scale studies in educational contexts). The position includes responsibility for teaching in the Educational Sciences portions of the bachelor's and master’s degree programs for teaching degrees for grammar, comprehensive and vocational schools, including preparation for and support during the practical semester.
The candidate is expected to engage in cooperation with other professors and working areas of the BZL, other educational departments in the five faculties and with the Center for practical teacher training (ZfsL Bonn). A strong capacity for connectivity and cooperation in research and instruction with the Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts is also expected. The candidate should be prepared to participate in the Transdisciplinary Research Area "Individuals, Institutions and Societies". Furthermore, the candidate should have experience in the conceptual design of CD programs for teachers, be prepared to engage in teaching in English, have a proven track record in international teaching, and be interested in cooperating with the German Institute for Adult Education: Leibniz Center for Lifelong Learning (DIE Bonn).
It is presumed that in addition to pedagogical suitability, the candidate will also prove excellent academic achievements in the form of a Habilitation or equivalent accomplishments, outstand-ing publications in national and international journals with peer review, and have experience with competitive projects, including independent solicitation of third-party funding.
The conditions of employment are in accordance with § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW).
