W3-Professorship in Educational Psychology:
Socialisation and Culture
The post holder will need to represent the full scope of research and lecturing in the field of
educational psychology. The candidate is expected to demonstrate internationally visible research
in the field of psychology of socialisation and culture. The professorship is concerned
with issues of socialisation under conditions of social and cultural diversity as well as issues
of heterogeneity in formal and non-formal contexts of education.
The candidate is expected to demonstrate internationally visible contributions to empirical
research and theory development. Further expected are experiences in raising research
funds for empirical research as well as in interdisciplinary cooperation.
Requirements for application:
above-average Ph.D. in psychology and further scholarly work that best matches the
focus of the call (Habilitation or equivalent work)
Experience in teaching on university level in teacher education programs as well as in
educational science (on BA and MA Level) is desired.
The teaching load under the responsibility of the professorship is located mainly in teacher
education programs as well as in the bachelor- and master-programs in educational science,
furthermore in bachelor and master-programs in psychology.
It is also expected that the post holder actively cooperates with the Center for School and
Education Research (ZSB) as well as with the psychology department. Additional tasks are
listed in § 34 of the „Hochschulgesetz des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt“.
