Full Professor
in »Construction Process Management«

to begin in summer / winter semester 2018/19. The position is a tenured W3 position.
Scientific environment
The professorship is assigned to the TUM Department of Civil Geo and Environmental Engineering, which takes an interdisciplinary perspective on the built environment. The central concerns of the department are summarized in its mission statement „Construction – Infrastructure – Environment – Planet Earth“. The professorship is part of the Focus Area "Modeling, Simulation, and Processes" which focuses on related complementary fields of research and teaching. The environment is exceptional and offers best prerequisites to develop the future profile of the field along the TUM missions „Interdisciplinary, Simulation, and Digitalization“.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of construction process management and operation, including theory and methods for planning- and organization processes as well as construction- and fabrication sequences. New trends, such as new materials, computer aided fabrication, control- and monitoring technologies shall be considered. The teaching load includes courses in the university‘s bachelor and master programs taught in German and English language. The candidate is expected to contribute to a cross-faculty research platform and to cooperate with practice partners at regional, national and international level. The professor is intended to be associated member of the Department of Architecture and the TUM School of Management as well.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with high international reputation who has demonstrated an outstanding academic record, an internationally recognized research program or is able to demonstrate outstanding potentials. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
Experiences in the private business sector and / or for public authorities as well as commitment to do interdisciplinary research by attracting third-party funding is mandatory.
