The Department of Business Administration, Economics, and Law at the School of Computing Science, Business
Administration, Economics, and Law seeks applications for a
W3 Professorship in Accounting and Corporate Governance
commencing as soon as possible.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate whose research focuses on accounting and corporate governance. Prerequisites
are a doctoral degree in business administration or a related field, teaching skills at university level, and additional academic
achievements commensurate with the rank of a full professor in the area of financial accounting and/or in the area of managerial
accounting. Proficiency in empirical research methods, international visibility through peer-reviewed publications in
well-regarded journals, as well as experience in attracting external research funding are expected. Current research projects
addressing the focus area of the professorship are considered as an asset.
The applicant's research is expected to strengthen the department's research focus area "Transnational Economics and Law
in the Information Society (TELIS)". Research contributions to further departmental focus areas are welcome. In addition, we
expect candidates to be willing to participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate will
contribute to the department's teaching programmes at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level. All candidates have to
be able to teach in English, and non-German-speaking candidates are expected to acquire working proficiency in German. As
Oldenburg University and Bremen University are bound by a cooperation agreement, active participation in the cooperation
