The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W 3) for Trauma Surgery (Succession of Prof. Dr. Norbert Südkamp)
to be filled by April 1th, 2019.
The future holder of this position will represent the subject in research and teaching.
She/he will be the medical director of the department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery
at the medical center - University of Freiburg.
The successful candidate must have longstanding clinical experience in the complete
field of trauma surgery. Applicants are expected to be experienced in personnel and clinical
management, as well as clinical economics. Excellent, internationally recognized
scientific credentials, allocation of third-party research funding and teaching abilities
are required for this position.
Furthermore a close, interdisciplinary cooperation, and the Integration into the main
research activities of the faculty of medicine, is expected.
Requirements for the appointment are in addition to the compliance with the employment
regulations, the completion of a university degree in medicine, educational qualification,
an doctorate degree, an excellent publication record and a board certification
in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (Facharztanerkennung) as well as the additional
board certification Special Trauma Surgery and Special Orthopaedic Surgery. Applicants
should have a Habilitation or an equivalent qualification (§ 47 Landeshochschulgesetz,
