The Faculty of Medicine of Ulm University invites applications for a

Professorship (W3 Position) for Translational and Experimental Research in Orthopedic Trauma (f/m/d)

at the Department for Orthopedic Trauma Surgery
(Head: Professor Dr. Florian Gebhard)

to be filled as soon as possible.

The holder of the position will lead the Trauma Lab of the Department for Orthopedic Trauma.

The main research focus area is translational research based on the pathophysiology of immune response following trauma as well as posttraumatic immune response on a cellular and molecular level.

In particular it is desirable to work on posttraumatic organ dysfunction of heart and lung in close collaboration with the CRC1149. As a midterm perspective a commitment to the new trauma research facility MTW (Multidimensional Trauma Research) is expected.

We are looking for a national and international highly recognized researcher.

The teaching load covers lectures in medicine, dental medicine and molecular medicine.
We expect a high commitment in teaching and participation in the development and execution of new learning concepts with particular attention to the „trauma-track“ and the student training hospital (TTU).

Employment requirements are completed university studies of medicine as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG); desirable is also a training as medical specialist in orthopedic trauma.
