W3 PROFESSORSHIP FOR SOCIOLOGY/
LABOUR, ECONOMY AND WELFARE
The
Faculty of Social Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum seeks to fill a W3 Professorship for Sociology/Labour, Economy and Welfare (anticipated starting date: Summer semester 2021).
The professorship addresses fundamental questions related to economy, labour and welfare in the socio-economic structural transformation as well as social innovations in research and teaching. Candidates should have contributed significantly to:
- Labour market research, economic structural change and regional innovation systems;
- new labour in service industry such as social services, health economy und services for the elderly;
- developmental perspectives of modern welfare societies between market, state and third sector/civil society.
The future full professor will teach on bachelor and master level, particularly in the study programmes "Health systems and health economy" and "Management and regulation of labour, economy and organization". The professorship contributes to the faculty's research clusters "Labour and social structure" and "Public sector and government action" and takes part in interdisciplinary cooperation with other teaching and research units at the faculty and the university.
Positive evaluated junior professorship, a habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, evidence of specific aptitude for academic teaching as well as readiness to participate in academic administration are mandatory.
Other mandatory requirements include:
- high engagement in academic teaching;
- willingness to engage with interdisciplinary research and collaboration;
- willingness and ability to attract third-party funded research projects;
- international visibility and network in research and teaching.
