W3 PROFESSORSHIP FOR SOCIAL POLICY AND PUBLIC ECONOMICS
The Faculty of Social Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum seeks to fill a
W3 Professorship for Social Policy and Public Economics (anticipated start date: Summer semester 2020).
The future full professor should have an excellent record of publications and experience in directing research projects on the economics of social policy.
She or he should have worked on several branches and instruments of social policy, including questions of institutional design. Additional research interests
may encompass relevant aspects of political and collective decision-making (public choice), social-policy administration (public management), public and non-profit
enterprises, or other fields of institutional economics. The professorship contributes to the interdisciplinary degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Social
Science, with obligations ranging from teaching principles of economics at the Bachelors' level to co-ordinating the Masters' programme "Health Systems and Health Industry".
Qualification for and deep commitment to academic teaching;
Willingness to engage with interdisciplinary research and collaboration;
Experience with securing projects with third-party funding;
Readiness to participate in academic administration.
