of the Goethe University of Frankfurt invites applications for
the following full time position as civil servant or public employee:
Professorship (W3) for Practical Theology
and Religious Education
We are welcoming applications from scholars with special
competences in the field of Practical Theology and Religious
Education focused on Lifelong Learning in non-school contexts.
Experiences in acquiring competitive third-party funding and with
interdisciplinary research associations are desirable.
Qualified candidates have a university degree in Catholic Theology, a
Ph.D. and a postdoctoral lecture qualification. Expected qualifications
are also a habilitation or equivalent publications.
Because the professorship is involved in teacher training, candidates
are required to have specific experience in this area and should be
willing to participate in interdisciplinary initiatives in the field of
empirical educational research. Candidates are expected to have
three years of practical school-related experience and should be
willing to supervise school internships.
The successful candidate will cover the entire field of Practical
Theology and Religious Education in his/her research and teaching.
A main research field is "Theologie Interkulturell" (intercultural
theology) and he/she will have the special task in global learning
as well as in internationalisation of research and teaching processes.
The applicant will be expected to participate in all courses of
studies offered by the department of Catholic Theology: teaching
degree courses as well as BA courses of Catholic Theology and the
MA course Religious communication: intercultural and media
perspectives. Expected is the development of the courses of studies
with focus on intercultural issues and questions.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German
university pay scale or equivalent. Goethe University is committed
