invites applications for the following full time position as civil
servant or public employee:
Professorship (W3) for Practical Theology
and Religious Education
We are welcoming applications from scholars with special
competences in the field of Practical Theology and Religious
Education and outstanding scientific achievements. Experiences in
acquiring competitive third-party funding and with interdisciplinary
research associations are desirable.
Qualified candidates have a university degree in Catholic Theology,
a Ph.D. Expected qualifications are also a habilitation or equivalent
The successful candidate will cover the entire field of Practical
Theology in his/her research and teaching. Since the education and
training of prospective teachers is one of the central tasks of this
professorship, candidates are required to have specific experience
in this area.
The applicant will be expected to participate in all kinds of courses
of the various study programs offered by the department of Catholic
Theology: teaching degree courses as well as BA courses of
Catholic Theology and the MA course Religious communication:
intercultural and media perspectives. Expected is the development
of the courses of studies focusing on intercultural issues and questions.
Additionally, "Theologie interkulturell" (intercultural theology)
should be a main part of the applicant's activity at our department.
Relevant publications of the candidate in the area of empirical
educational research are also desirable.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German
university pay scale or equivalent.
