Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the following position as
civil servant or public employee starting at the earliest possible date:
Professorship (W3) for Political Science with
a Special Focus on International Institutions
and Peace Processes
The successful candidate will have a strong reputation based on
publications and a teaching record in the field of International Relations
with a special emphasis on peace and conflict studies, as well as an
excellent research record in the special focus area of international institutions
and peace processes. She or he will also have a track record
in securing and implementing externally funded projects. Experience
with qualitative research methods will be an asset as will be ideas
about the development of interdisciplinary peace and conflict studies
and its integration into national and international research and teaching.
The successful candidate will be open to participating in current and
future collaborative research projects in the Faculty of Social Sciences
and to teaching at the Bachelors' and Masters' level in all of the
Faculty's degree programs, especially in the Masters program in
International Studies / Peace and Conflict Research. The professorship
is also involved in teacher training; experience and concepts for
teaching subject content in schools are welcome. The position
requires participating actively in the administrative roles expected
of professors at German universities.
The designated salary for the position is based on "W3" on the German
university scale or equivalent, including performance bonuses that are
subject of negotiation. Goethe University is committed to increasing
