PROFESSOR FOR PLASMA TECHNOLOGY (W3)
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications
for the position of a Professor for Plasma Technology (W3) to start as soon as possible.
It is expected that the candidate is scientifically active in the main research areas
Low-temperature plasma technology (low-pressure and atmospheric pressure
Quantitative and simulation-based diagnostic methods of experimental plasma
with application links to the other research areas within the faculty. Collaboration with other departments of the university, in particular mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry and biology are expected.
The Research Departments are an important structural element of the Ruhr-Universität. Active participation in the Research Department
"Plasmas with Complex Interactions" and the "Materials Research Department" is expressly desired.
Teaching assignments include compulsory lectures in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. It is expected, that the candidate actively participates in selected main study areas of the faculty.
International visibility through publications and projects and above-average third-party funding
are expected, as well as the willingness and ability to lead and participate in large collaborative projects.
Positive evaluation as a junior professor or equivalent academic achievement (e.g. Habilitation) or significant post-doctoral research contributions and teaching
experience are as much required as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the RUB.
Furthermore, a strong commitment to academic teaching, the readiness to participate in interdisciplinary research, the willingness and ability to attract external funding are expected.
