For the winter semester 2021/2022, the Faculty of Medicine seeks to fill the following professorship (as successor to Prof Dr Peter Möller):
Professorship (pay scale W3) for general pathology (m/w/x)
We seek to appoint a person with a national and international academic reputation in the field of pathology. The position also involves leadership of the institute.
The future holder of the professorship should demonstrate an established research profile, documented by excellent publication output and successful third-party funding. Thanks to its extremely broad methodology, the field of pathology represents an ideal cooperation partner for existing and future research partnerships. As a result, experience of establishing research partnerships would be extremely useful. As an interdisciplinary department, the Institute for Pathology plays a central role in the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU) for all tumour boards and certified centres, and is essential for the entire range of pathological diagnostics, including molecular pathology. It is also responsible for the CCCU?s central biobank.
Pathology is a core subject in the teaching of clinical medicine, and is offered to students of human medicine, dental medicine and molecular medicine. The post holder will be responsible for designing and developing curricular and extracurricular teaching in the field of pathology, in the form of lectures in the above-mentioned study programmes. We expect the post holder to play an active role in establishing and implementing new teaching concepts (including in respect of the new teaching building, TTU). This is intended to ensure the teaching programme at the site is strengthened.
Prerequisites for appointment to the professorship are a completed university degree, pedagogic aptitude, a doctorate and the additional relevant academic achievements (Section 47 of the LHG ? State Higher Education Act). For the clinical work, certification as a medical specialist in the field of pathology is required.
