Professorship (W3) for Empirical
Educational Research with a focus
on Professional Practice in Education (Succession of Eckhard Klieme)
The successful candidate will serve on the Board of Directors of
DIPF and chair one of its research departments, currently named
'Educational Quality and Evaluation'. The department conducts
research on professional competence and practice in educational
settings, especially in schools. Its chair will need to be an experienced
principal investigator in international research in this field. He or she
will represent DIPF in national and international research networks.
Due to the transdisciplinary nature of the department's work, this
call is open to educational researchers from various academic
disciplines. At Goethe University, teaching obligations at the Faculty
of Psychology and Sports Sciences are 2 teaching hours per week
during the teaching period. Since the professorship is involved in
teacher training, candidates are required to have specific experience
in this area and should be willing to participate in interdisciplinary
initiatives in the field of empirical educational research.
Candidates are expected to have an excellent international reputation
in their field of research, be familiar with the German educational
system and have held leading positions in research projects and
interdisciplinary cooperation. Leadership skills as well as an interest
in and willingness to engage in research-practice dialogue are
