In Division III - Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the KIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology invites applications for the position of
Professor (W3) for Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage Systems Technology
who is to head the previous branch institute IAM-WET (Materials for Electrical and Electronic Engineering) of the Institute for Applied Materials (IAM) as of the next possible date.
Candidates are to represent the area of electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems technology in research and academic education. They should have vast expertise in several of the following areas:
Development of systems and technologies for electrochemical energy conversion (fuel and electrolysis cells) and storage (lithium-ion and post-lithium batteries)
analysis and modeling of chemico-physical processes in single cells of electrochemical energy converters and storage systems
diagnostics and modeling of electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems
applications of energy converters and storage systems in the areas of power grids and mobility
Candidates should have outstanding scientific qualification, experience in leading working groups as well as excellent didactic skills. Several years of
successful work in industry or close-to-industry research and experience in the acquisition of third-party funds are desired.
In the area of academic education, candidates are expected to actively participate in German and English study programs offered by the KIT Department of
Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as well as in related programs offered by other departments of KIT. Apart from courses on electrochemical
energy conversion and storage systems technology, this also includes basic lectures in bachelor’s programs.
