The University of Bayreuth is a research-oriented university with internationally competitive, interdisciplinary focus areas in research and teaching.
The newly founded Faculty of Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition & Health on the University of Bayreuth's Kulmbach Campus is currently seeking to appoint a
Professor of Food Supply Chain Management (full professorship)
at pay grade W 3 (minimum salary per month: 6,683 euros) to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
The applicant should cover the various complex interdependencies and challenges in the management of value chains in the food industry in research and teaching.
He or she should have a business orientation with a focus on production and logistics in the food industry, as well as an affinity for technical and scientific
developments in the field, including in particular information technology.
Active participation in the development of the new Faculty of Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition & Health is expected. This also includes the conception and establishment
of new, interdisciplinary B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes such as the M.Sc. "Food Quality and Safety". The aim is to recruit an academic who can contribute to the interlinking
of economics with the food and health sciences thanks to his or her qualifications and research orientation. The applicant should participate in joint research projects
combining food and health sciences with economics. Experience in working with scientists would be an advantage. An affiliation with the University of Bayreuth's Faculty
of Law, Business & Economics is also possible.
The ability to teach in English is required as a large number of the faculty's courses will be offered in English. International applicants must be ready and willing to teach in German within three years.
